Night of the Living Ales IV - Sold Out
| March 1, 2008 | ||
| 6:00 pm | to | 10:00 pm |
For the fourth consecutive year, CBS will be sponsoring the region’s largest celebration of cask-conditioned ales, Night of the Living Ales. This event will feature around 40 casks of real ale from Chicagoland breweries and some very special guests. As always, this promises to be a big firkin deal for area real ale enthusiasts. Attendees will be able to sample the beers and then select the 2008 Champion Real Ale of Chicagoland. Past champions have been Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, Flossmoor Station X-IPA, and Three Floyds Admiral Lord Nelson. Who will win in 2008? It’s up to you!
NotLA IV will be held at Goose Island Wrigleyville, 3535 N Clark St, Chicago, from 6-10 pm (9:45 last call). Tickets are $35 for members, $40 nonmembers, purchased in advance. Admission includes a tasting glass, beer samples, and appetizers (artisanal meats and cheeses; Goose Island grub). You must be 21 or older to be admitted. As of February 17 we are now completely sold out. Thanks once again to all our members and guests for your continuing support of this event. Extra thanks to the Siebel Institute of Technology and World Brewing Academy and the Brewers Supply Group for their sponsorship this year.
As always, we recommend th
at you take public transportation or arrange for a designated driver. Goose Island Wrigleyville is located approximately 2 blocks west of the CTA Red Line Addison station (one-half block south of Wrigley Field). The CTA 22 Clark bus runs past the front door all night; taxis are also an easy option.

Are tickets available at Goose Island, Rock Bottom-Chicago, or the Map Room like they have been in the past, or is it mail order only this time?
Stevie on 26 Jan 2008 at 1:11 pm #
Matt, it’s mail order for now. If we do have tickets available at Goose or other locations, we’ll post that information here.

this sounds great, these events are always a highlight of the year - it’s check only right now I see, will there be a paypal option? (otherwise I have to dig up a checkbook, it’s been a while since I wrote one).
thanks,
Carter

No Paypal yet, I’m afraid. Better dust off the old checkbook. Of course, we’ll also take ca$h!

Matt and others,
I will be dropping of a small number of tickets at each of the Goose Island pubs later today. These tickets will only be sold at the non-member price ($40) and may be purchased with cash or checks made payable to Chicago Beer Society.
I will also have some tickets for sale at tonight’s First Thursday at the Clybourn pub. The member price (limit 1 per membership) can be obtained upon presentation of a valid CBS membership card.

Hi, I mailed in my order for two nonmember tix for this event a couple of weeks ago and have not gotten them. There is no information here saying that the tickets will be mailed. Will they be mailed?
Stevie on 08 Feb 2008 at 10:17 am #
The tickets will be mailed.
However, if you purchase tickets within a couple of weeks of the event you may be asked to pick them up at will-call at Goose Island Wrigleyville.

Due to work scheduling issues, I was only able to drop tickets off at the Clybourn pub. I will post here when they are available at the Wrigleyville pub.
Also, the first batch of ticket orders have been mailed out. They should be delivered in the next day or two.
Joe on 17 Feb 2008 at 1:01 am #
Tickets are now available at Goose Island Wrigleyville. These are non-member priced tickets.
I’ve been informed that the Clybourn pub is nearly out (or is out by now) of tickets. I’ll post here if/when more tickets are available there.
I also just received an updated list of mail-order requests. Those tickets will be mailed early next week.

The event is now SOLD OUT, except for a few non-member priced tickets at the Goose Island brewpubs. Wrigleyville reportedly has more left than Clybourn.

Do you know what the cutoff date was for mail-orders that are getting tickets?
Stevie on 19 Feb 2008 at 2:42 pm #
The cutoff date for orders was Saturday, February 16 - that’s the day we reached capacity for the venue.
