Uh oh. My friend dropped my entries off at GI Clybourn the day entries were due and they took it without a problem. I assumed that meant the beers would make it to the competition... I hope that assumption was correct!

I'm reading these comments the day after the competition. I too dropped my entries off in a 6-pack with payment and forms at Goose Island. I hope they made it to the competition.

Timothy, please send me email at roger at chibeer.org ASAP so we can try to find them. Include in your email the basic information from your entry forms. (Name, address, email address, etc) At this point, the most important thing is the style category numbers of your entries, so we can figure out the groupings and judge assignments for Saturday.

I also dropped off two entries (2 bottles each) last week and they did not want to take the entrance fee or the applications. They told me that both were to be turned in to the Chi beer Club directly on the day of the event. Each of my bottles have the labels attached via rubber bands and the four are in a Maudite four pack carrier. Let me know what you need me to do.

Kris - In general, loose entries are difficult. Even when dropped off in person, it's best if they are in some kind of package, with bottles, forms, and fees inside so things don't get misplaced. A 6-pack carrier will usually do; better yet a 6-pack inside a paper sack that's stapled closed and marked clearly. Who'd you give it to? While we try to track down your bottles, we're going to need the information from the form(s) so we can include it in the judging. Please email me at roger at chibeer.org with as many details as possible so we can sort this out.

On Saturday, there won't be much to watch or do for most of the day. It's not a homebrew event like First Thursday where we're all sharing - most of us will be very busy judging. The bar will open at 11AM for Goose Island beer and food. The awards ceremony will be at mid-afternoon, and will be the only interesting part of the whole day for spectators.

So I dropped off my bottles on Friday, but they didn't want the entrance form or the money submission. Can I bring those on the day of the event, and if so, do I have to be there at nine? That's a little early for me on a Sat., but if so, I'll do it.

Also, how does Goose Island work beer drinking there? I mean, can I bring more of my homebrew to share, will we get to taste the left over beers and winners, etc...? I'd hate to invite all my friends and then they didn't get to try anything when they got there. Or worse, show up with beer in hand and not be allowed to open it in Goose Island.

Thanks!
